The data that the site uses, for the sole purpose of communicating with users, is kept secret and is therefore not communicated in any way to any third party or outside organization.

A few explanations about the cookies used on this site

  • All requests to a website initiate a session, which stores the IP address in session data and creates a session cookie in the user’s browser. The IP address is used as a security measure to protect against potential session hijacking attacks. This information is deleted once the session has expired and its data purged. The name of the session cookie is based on a randomly generated hash code and therefore has no constant identifier. The session cookie is destroyed once the session has expired or when the user quits the browser.
  • The logging system records the visitor’s IP address, which led to the message being written, in its log files. These log files are used to record various activities on a site, including information relating to basic updates, invalid connection attempts, unhandled errors, and development information such as the use of obsolete APIs.
  • When a network connection is available, an installation will attempt to communicate with servers for various functions, including :
  • Search for application updates
  • Help screens for kernel extensions
  • Web-based installation service (optional)
  • Statistics server (optional)
  • As with all HTTP requests, your server’s IP address will be transmitted as part of the request.

Authentication – Cookies

  • In conjunction with a plugin that supports “Remember Me” functionality, such as the “System – Remember Me” plugin, this plugin creates a cookie on the user’s client if a “Remember Me” checkbox is selected when logging in to the site. This cookie can be identified and is used to automatically connect users to the website when they visit it and are not already logged in.
    CAPTCHA – reCAPTCHA
  • The reCAPTCHA Invisible plug-in integrates with Google’s reCAPTCHA system as an anti-spam protection service. As part of this service, the IP address of the user responding to the captcha challenge is transmitted to Google.
  • With regard to cookies, you can view and configure them in the module opposite.

Privacy

In order to process requests for information, user details must be collected and logged for audit trail purposes. The request system is based on an individual’s e-mail address, which will be used to link the request, where possible, to an existing user of the site.

System – Language filter

On a multilingual site, this plug-in can be configured to set a cookie in the user’s browser, which remembers their language preferences. This cookie is used to redirect users to the language of their choice when visiting the site and creating a new session. The cookie name is based on a randomly generated hash and therefore has no constant identifier.

WordPress

WordPress uses cookies, or tiny pieces of information stored on your computer, to verify who you are. There are cookies for logged in users and for commenters.
